A Variety of Random, Artistic, and Creative Works:

Occasionally, I go through periods in which I am suddenly interested in a particular subject that strikes my fancy. It's usually a short-lived fascination, but one often inspired by seeing pictures taken by others on various photographic forums. Obviously, you'll see that one evening I was enthralled with the various shapes that smoke forms as it rises from a candle; during another period it was eyes, and another having to do with snow/ice. You never know! Usually it happens after I've been so busy with family and work that there has been no time for photography, and I feel the need to shoot something........ANYthing. LOL

cdpayetphotography > Seen in my dog's eye:
You have to look very carefully, but if you do, you can see the reflection of me in her eye, taking the picture.
cdpayetphotography > The Eye: Not an original title, of course, but appropriate. I was experimenting with some new extension tubes for real close-ups.

cdpayetphotography > The "Blue Moon" on January 1st, 2010:
This shot was really an accident, but obviously one with a pleasing result. I had never attempted moon shots before, and with my new Canon 7D and tripod, I decided to try. Clear and cold, it was a perfect night for it. Not knowing what settings to use, I decided to experiment, and this was one of the first 5 shots. Rather surprised, I tried a range of other settings, all with similar results. Since I'd reached the point I just wanted to go inside and warm up, I will have to wait on a "regular" full-moon shot for another month.
cdpayetphotography > My first successful moon shot! Remarkably, it was handheld, too. With the full moon tomorrow night, I will have my tripod handy to do it properly.
cdpayetphotography > Snowflakes on a Grilling Brush:
Knowing we were going to get hit with a snowstorm, I decided to bring my work 100mm macro home to use with the new 7D. Nice combination! As I was watching my little girl, there was no time to use the tripod, and so it took some serious sharpening to bring out the fine detail, but still......I like it.
